‘Tis The Time For Bonuses – But How Far This Year?
Big Law bonus time is upon us and despite a tougher period for the firms the bonus season has still arrived with some bumper payouts for associates.
Among the latest US firms announcing their bonuses are O’Melveny & Myers, McDermott Will & Emery, Cravath Swaine & Moore, which begini at $15,000 on a pro-rated basis for the 2022 class and according to memos circulated by the firms.
The Cravath bonuses reach $105,000 (2016 class) while McDermotts reaches $115,000 for the 2015 class.
McDermott chair Ira Coleman said in the memo to the firm’s associates that the compensation scale was to meet “those who meet our standard bonus-eligible-hours threshold.”

2021 Year – $20,000
2020 – $30,000
2015 – $115,000
Wilkie Farr & Gallagher –
2022 Year – $15,000
2021 – $20,000
