Our client, Unison Networks Limited, owns, designs, manages and operates the electricity distribution network that serves the Hawke’s Bay, Taupo and Rotorua regions. They enable the communities in these regions to prosper - by delivering customers' energy needs through a dynamic, flexible and sustainable electricity system.
An exciting opportunity is now available for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join Unison’s in-house legal team in the role of Easement and Property Advisor, based at their head office in Hastings.
Reporting to the Corporate Counsel, you will manage, report on, and continuously improve Unison’s easement and network property processes to assure the attainment of suitable property rights for their network assets and compliant operation under these.
You will manage easements and other property rights, including preparation of easement/licencing documentation, supporting/undertaking negotiations, registration and maintenance, and liaising with external legal service providers. In addition, you will provide advice to your colleagues regarding Unison’s property requirements, rights and obligations.
This is definitely a role that you can make your own and stretch to meet your talents. For the more experienced and qualified applicants, the opportunity exists to add value, particularly in the provision of legal property advice to the Unison Group, as well as advising on Unison’s planning and environmental requirements.
Key skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include:
- Possess relevant experience in easement and property law-related fields
- Possess sound knowledge of property rights including easements and licencing arrangements
- Solid commercial awareness / acumen
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organised, systematic in your approach
- Possess a relevant qualification in Law or Property; or be a qualified Legal Executive
